Favoriting items is quite simple and can be done from within your lists. Just hover over the desired item and click the "..." icon on the right side of it. 

Click "Edit Tags" straight after that. All available tags will appear in a list you can choose from. You can also add new tags from here.

All your favorited items can be viewed in joint lists.
